Hurzeler provides fitness update on Joao Pedro

Watford boss gives latest on forward as he recovers from injury

Portuguese forward has missed recent games for the Hornets

Watford boss Slaven Bilic has provided an update on the fitness of Joao Pedro, who has missed the Hornets' recent games through injury.

The Portuguese forward has been out of action since sustaining a knock in the 1-0 defeat to Burnley on 10 September.

Bilic has now revealed that Pedro is making good progress in his recovery, but he is still not fit enough to return to action.

"Joao is getting better," Bilic said.

"He is training with the team, but he is not ready to play yet.

"We will have to see how he progresses in the next few days."

Pedro has been a key player for Watford this season, scoring two goals in six appearances.

The Hornets have struggled in his absence, losing their last two games.

Bilic will be hoping to have Pedro back available for the trip to West Bromwich Albion on 1 October.
